I was browsing for the ideas for a slideshow and this is probably one of the coolest and probably the easiest ive found so far. Very simple and yet not boring. My daughter's birthday is coming up and i guess i'll pick this effect. Ive already made an intro like yours last night. All i need to do is download some disney backgrouds if i could find some.

The effect is sometimes nicked named "The Kens Burns Effect" You can also google the term "3d pan and zoom with 2d pictures"...
It's time consuming and you have to be creative when it comes to recreating the holes in your backplate. I made a video myself for my job. just youtube: fireresq7 ken burns effect

Great job. I've learned this myself recently...it's a very cool effect. But I find that if you feather the edge and trim the edge of your foreground character, it will look alot smoother!

this is a nice slideshow how did you do a 3d slideshow montage? Im looking into starting a slideshow business for weddings, graduation, birthdays, and so on but would like to know about the 3d slideshow montage and I dont know much about montage as well thanks for your time. From Charles

Just make sure you have a background that fits your foreground. Not all the scenes had the original background. I spent countless hours drawing up a sketch on paper of what I was planning and then searched for the images. Had to be similar lighting, color for it to work.

sorry for the month long late response. I never log into youtube..
I used after effects. The effect I believe is just called "3d montage". Just a LOT of photoshop. U need high quality large photos for this to come out good.
