Here we have Melanie and Mojo going out for a walk. As you can see, he is getting used to his harness, but does have a problem with coming to heel. The Butterfly and Wildlife Park has many reptiles in the tropical house and these include a Caimen which is a close relative to the Crocodile in many repects. Melanie is the main keeper in the tropical garden, and is very good at handling all the creatures including the snakes. We have both the Boa Constrictor, and a Royal Python which she handles with great aplomb.

  • ok cool monitor, but really poor video. its a slideshow that lasts 30 secs & has no music. even poor elevator music is better than nothing at all

  • @dakotab619 bout 150 usd

  • that guy looks closer to a dinosaur than almost any other reptile i've seen. Monitors are strange lizards.

That would be cool if they ever found a live mosasaur out there in one of the oceans. (its an evolutionary link between monitor lizards and snakes)

  • @jeffjohnson801 wow you must wait a long time in the tub since these monitors love the water lol cause i have one and am going to try your method and see if it works

  • how much dose a baby one cost

  • How many ft is your monitor?

That is like the perfect size.

  • i like to put my little nile in the bathtub with enough water for him to swim but not too deep, i put on basketball shorts or work pants and sit on the edge of the tub with my feet in the water, when he wants out, he knows that i am his ticket back to his cage, and i am the only thing to climb out onto so it builds trust. use luke warm water, some people dont use water, i think it calms him down, then again some people dont like this method at all, just be persistent and patient with taming

  • You can start by grab it... put your hand on the substrate and get closet to him little by little.... if he hizzes don't back up your hand because that's a defeat sign for lizards and willl think they dominate so get close slowly but sure and handle him until it comes down in your hands... do that repeatly each day
