Gobots Intro

This brings back memories of WacaDay for me... Precursor to the more sophisticated Transformers series, Gobots didn't last long once the Robots in Disguise arrived...

@weirdwatch I disagree. Compare any of them to the little Transformers like Bumblebee and Huffer and the Gobots look ten times better.

@horkology the Go-bots came in different sizes too. You could actually buy 8 inch versions of Cykill and others. The problem with them is that despite being die-cast, they are pretty badly made, with arms that would lose tension over time, very simple transformation modes, and were easy to break, Scooter especially. Compared to the first generation transformers they just looked bad.

Go-bot toys were so much better than Transformers. They were made of metal and actually looked like toy vehicles, instead of just cheap plastic things like Transformers. Too bad Transformers had better marketing and a better cartoon, and therefore became more popular (and, unlike Go-Bots, they came in different sizes, which also helped).

I didn't mind the GO bots, Cykill is a great villan always bad ass. but think Leader 1 was a bit of a crap name for a robot. He's no Optimus Prime

i like transformers (generation 1 obviously, because basically everything after that was really poor, energon being the only exception) but i quite liked gobots aswell...

Believe it or not, the Gobots were actually introduced before the Transformers.

Gobots severely sucked ass! They were for us kids who's parents were poor and couldn't afford Optimus Prime or real transformers... :-/
