@fiapop IF the Fed put up interest rates like Volcker did in the 70s, and kept them there for a couple years, THEN inflation would subside and this would cause PM prices to moderate or even drop. This is what happened in the 70s.
But this is not going to happen this time, for the very good reason that in the 70s we were the world's largest creditor nation, and now we are the world's largest debtor nation. So we cannot do what Volcker did. We are trapped on the money printing treadmill.
