@MicroMediaInk - I'd not be going far on a limb stating that Richard did not record this song so to intimidate Ray any more than Willie than did. Besides the song originally was not written for nor by Ray, but rather his rendition is among the most popular. It is all a mater of personal taste, and nobody is stopped from enjoying multiple versions, be it Ray's, Willie's, Richard's .... To each his own.

I only wish audio of Richard's older performances of "Georgia" existed. He played it often with his pre-Band group, Richard and the Revols.

I can happily remark that at least on this channel, virtually all comments are impartial, with virtual no opinion attacks - excluding yours. I urge you to read DirtyDecks own conclusion below. He clearly came into the conversation w/o an opinion. If any, he 1st felt RR was being unfairly accused. Just bc.most harbor differing opinions than you, does not make them crusading fools!!!

@Semelak85 No the reason people dont about robbie robertson is that they have nothing better to do in life and in search for meaning go on starting foolish crusades on matter that is greater than themselves so they feel part of something.

@DirtyDeck Read Levon's book "This Wheel's On Fire", it will explain a lot about what happened w/ Robbie. It is a great read and a must for any fan of The Band as well as for fans of the history of Rock Music. Of course you must realize that this was written from Levon's point of view, but I (and many insiders) think his pov has been well substantiated. I am So Happy Levon has survived to have successes in the industry, I only wish the same would have happened for Richard and Rick.
