Atlantis was never the same without Torri Higginson, while Amanda Tapping's Col Carter taking over the rains was a great idea and gave an easy transition for the fans, her lack of commitment to the show (understandable after 10 years on SG1 and wanting to pursue pastures new) was a shame, i hate cast changes, especially when the best character leaves, ie Weir in Atlantis and Jadzia Dax on Star Trek DS9. Torri should have been given more character control and should have stayed for sure.

I respect her choice,but it's soo fucking bad by the creators that they needed to do that! I was not a Stargate-fan until I saw Atlantis and followed it all along,and after I've seen it for a long time I realized that Torri/Weir was absolutely my favourite character of the show! Look what happened now,2 final seasons only without Weir,then it's SGU that has been cancelled for only 2 seasons! No wonder why the fans are disappointed and tired of all these changes!

@maroguy96 Yeah. Carter left because Tapping went with her new show Sanctuary. Woolsey, he only had the last season to work with. They should have never cancelled it.

I loved her too. The dynamic of the show changed to be sure. As to the show taking a dive, well...I have to disagree with you on that. the rest of the cast made the show better...but it would have been even WAY better if she was not gone.

@usaeagle1776 Don't get me wrong the show was still excellent but the lack of solid leadership changed the shows personality. In my opinion Sheppard didn't have the maturity to handle the load buy himself and Carter/Woolsey, although strong characters, weren't used very well by the writers(in the teamwork sense).

things changed when she left Atlantis. not bad, but would have been better if she had stayed.

@usaeagle1776 I loved Torri/Weir on Atlantis. She was the wisdom within the show. After she left the show took a dive. Its kinda like Trek without Picard or Kirk.
