This is part 1 of the 3rd video I've made about my first ever X525 Quad-copter build. I guess I'm destined to have one disaster after another until I learn every possible thing from all of my screw-ups! If you have some ideas about why this quad refuses to lift off, and what that gawd-awful sound is, please chime in with your comments! Also, please subscribe to my Youtube Channel! I need more subs to get these problems solved! I'm going to put Part 2 of this video up tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan 25th, 2012) night! Thanks for watching. Mark

  • I was also wondering about prop/motor directions. You should have been able to feel the air flowing the wrong way from the motors :P

Please keep updating the comments of your videos with the solutions. I will be building almost this same quad as soon as the parts come in!

  • @dege13 On the props, it's easy if you understand what they're doing. The blades cut up, into the air, and in doing so, they direct the air downwards. By knowing which way they spin, you can see if they're cutting up, and directing the air downwards. So we got that figured out!

  • search for the KKcopter manual online

go there make sure the props are on the right way and that each motor is spinning the proper direction not all the motors spin the same way on a quadcopter, depending on if its a + or x config this copter is a X use that when setting up via the manual

  • @Bunnykiller6969 Thanks for the comment. I did that, in spades. We're way beyond that, but of course, there are new problems. I hope you'll check out my newest videos, there's 2, actually, with a third to come today, hopefully. Getting the KK board dialed in has proven to be far more difficult that I imagined, but we are working on it, and we will get it! Thanks so much for your comment! I hope you'll subscribe to this site! Mark

  • @Bunnykiller6969 also all quads use R and non R blades, this quad uses GWS 9050R and GWS 9050 standard rotation and they must be put on the correct rotor aswell as spinning the correct way depending on your setup + or x flying mode. seeing your latter videos you figured that out figure il help somone else who comes here looking for answers

  • You got to match your esc to the motor

  • Your esc is not setup right "timing frequency"

  • @randall1959 It's a pretty cool board. It has some awesome stabilization software built into it. The holy grail of stabilization if Derek can get it to work. But it's not going to well.

  • @MobileMediaProducts I'm not familiar with FF boards.
