Polar Process butter pumping, margarine pumping and shortening pumping systems can receive 55lb (25kg) blocks of frozen butter with temperatures as low as 0F (-18C) and pump it to batch vessels or to blenders through
jacketted lines. The butter is cracked into pieces before entering a high shear mill, reducing it to a pumpable mass without significant temperature increase.
