is theory nescesary to play guitar well or does it just help?

Theory isn't suppose to be all that fun.Just like anything else its a learning curve. If you are serious about making music your job then theory will be very helpful. But just like a great writer doesn't have to have the best grammar in the world to write a good book,a musician doesn't have to master theory. But it makes it a whole lot easier to express what you have in the noggin and communicate with other players.

im fine with learning theory but i dont get written theory. like why are there 3 symbols that represent one thing. it gets so confusing.

i'm curious about theory which is why i clicked on it but honestly. this is the stuff that made me quit guitar twice. It's just not fun. i started up two years ago and ignored this stuff and it's been much more enjoyable. i 'm not closing my mind it's just that 20 seconds in literally caught myself daydreaming. I still favorited it though cause i'm gonna try.

how exactly would u become a professional guitarist?

Well I've been playing guitar for 2 yrs now and still can't relate to notes. But I'm currently in orchestra which has taught me basic patterns of keys and stuff so I just need more knowldge on te guitar. I play the cello for 5 yrs btw

Yes both books are the same. One is published by muse-eek.com and one is published by MelBay. Both have the same content.
