Bury St Edmunds. The Abbey gate itself is said to be very haunted, Spectral monks have been seen gliding around the ruins of the abbey, also in the shops along Abbeygate Street

There's a monument next to the cathedral dedicated to the people who were burnt under Queen Mary I's (Bloody Mary's) reign. They were persecuted for not being Catholic.

I live 12 miles south of this town, and I've been to the cathedral, abbey ruins, st. John the Evangelist church and St. Mary's Church. They are all very beautiful places to visit.
