  • I assume your beds are 4 feet across. How tall are they and what kind of wood did you use? It would be nice if you would film a broader view so we could see the overall big picture of your garden. It looks gorgeous.

  • Yes, 4 ft wide. Height is 12" to around 30". Check my other videos for a video on how tall to make raised beds. I also have an episode about planning your raised bed garden where I provide overhead shots of the garden.

  • We did not worry about anyone stealing our veggies, we encouraged them at times to share our harvest and explained the reasons for doing so.

Give a man a loaf of bread you feed his for a day, teach him to grow food , you feed him for life

  • I'm in downtown LA and haven't had my front yard food stolen. Well, one tomato was taken, but that's it so far. I feel insulted.

  • Eating flowers? "My secret shame!" (Homer Simpson)

  • @growingyourgreens along with stinging nettles, I'd plant a lot of cukes to go up the trellis. The leaves are prickly enough that most people won't like reaching through them. Not to mention, cukes produce so much it doesn't matter if someone steals a few of them.

  • GREAT VIDEO! i grew up like this in my country and when i came here i was surprised that people have so much back or front yard but it's not used for farming; they'd rather pay someone to cut the grass. keep it up! you might start a trend and people will thank you for true organic home grown vegetables, fresh taste every day and no doctors. God bless you!

  • My grandparents grew grapes one year, and one day the neighbors stole all their grapes. Just terrible.

  • WOW! Does this guy have a job or is THIS his job? I could do all that & work for my neighbors for free too if I didnt have to go to work.

  • I had a house with big oak trees in the back yard. When I put my vegetable garden in the front yard, people told me I was crazy and that it would be ugly. After it started to grow, people commented all the time about how pretty it was in the front yard.

  • Middle class Americans are the worst thieves you will ever deal with. They are sneakier. Just wait til the dollar dies, then they'll take all your food. they know it's food, they are watching you harvest every year. Folks in Downtown L.A. Will leave you alone. They're nicer and more honest then the sneaky middle class, who steal with masks on, then blame other groups for their crimes.
