always liked this song..first heard it when I went to work with my dad who was an radio engineer and I spent my time with the DJ's of the staff....eventually got the station's copy after they discontinued playing it......nice melody...thank you
The Islanders were an instrumental duo consisting of Frank Metis of Germany and Randy Starr of New York City. This was popular in the autumn of 1959, and Martin Denny covered the song as a follow-up to his "Quiet Village" hit.
I heard this on "Jimmy Mack's Old Gold" on Radio Scotland about 25 years ago. It was a request from someone who remembered it playing incessantly on a juke box 20 years before that. Anyway I taped it and used to play it to relax and get to sleep the night before exams. I never knew the song's name or heard it again. But a bit of searching on the internet and eureka! Thanks very much.
Fantastic video. I've been looking for this record for years. All I could find was Martin Denny. Thanks for posting!
