Sax player Red Holloway told me the story on how this album came to be. There was a club in L.A. in the 70's called the Perisian Room. Red's band was more or less the house band. The owner of the club was a friend of Iceberg's and Ice would come by the club often with some of his hoes to hear some Jazz. The owner of the club was also affiliated with Laugh Records a comedy record label. He asked Iceberg if he wanted to make an album and Red's band backed him on the session.

Poetry album yall...Iceberg....am readin' The Lost Interviews with pimp now...neva read Deathwish...all the others, yeah...I think its purposeful, because I can't read a book over and over, and I gotta have sumptin' left Slim...sum more of the mastery. Doom FOX is filled with jewels...CUM on paper, just beautiful....You've made me even more persuasive...influencing, I never call it manipulation...it has a negative cannotation to it.
