Erm, I'm feeling extremely out of the loop of here, but I have to ask: what exactly (I mean title-wise) is the character Cthulhu from?

And, I've heard his name pronounced Kuh-thULU and S-thULU. Is either fine?

The creature is originally from the short story The Call of Cthulhu, by HP Lovecraft. The way Lovecraft described the pronunciation of the name is rather difficult, since it's not supposed to be a human sound, so we have a bit of leeway in pronouncing it, but it's a hard C, not a soft one. The title of my animation here, on the other hand, is meant to be the English word "cute" followed by "THOO-lhu".

Well kids, lesson learned; Never save flash animation frames as .JPG files, otherwise every frame will have been botched up in an attempt for the file type to auto blend all of the color transitions..

What you're seeing is not the result of any saving frames as JPEGs. The poor quality of this video is due entirely to the crappy compression that was the standard Youtube "quality" back in 2007 when I uploaded this.

I don't think I've ever said this about any other author or historical figure in general, but I wish I could summon Lovecraft from the dead briefly, and show him the influence he's had on people.

If you made another one with the same sickeningly sweet (well, she was laughing at the grapes of wrath so internally twisted) anime style girls, I might recommend having them play house, and have not just the cthulhu doll as a character in their fantasy but a little hitler as their fantasy next door neighbor who joins them for a spot of tea along with shiva the destroyer, vlad the impaler, etc., but all with personalities assigned by the girls that don't fit the original characters.
