Feeling the envy right now. I've been in love with dome homes for years and would LOVE to have one myself. It's probably not in the cards for some time, but I really appreciate you and others like you, sharing your experiences. :) Love that you named your dome too. Twinkie. Too perfect!

A little too windy for inflation

To Portugal1010 - It was pretty windy, but it got inflated okay with no problems. Once the air was at full capacity, they cut two holes where the doors were going to be to equalize the pressure. When you pushed on the outside there was no give to it. Very solid feeling.

The people at Monolithic in Italy, Texas do and so does South Industries, Inc. in Menan, Idaho. The inside is up to the individual, we hired someone to do the inside for us.

I have been researching these homes for two years and I want to build one but I have 4 kids so going to Texas for the training is next to impossible. By the way, does anyone know how to build one ?

@nena1bomb - we researched and changed our floor plan for 11 years before we got the chance to build ours. We are in it now and love every minute we are here. We started letting people tour the house during the whole building process starting in Feb. 2009, then last year in Nov. we started having people sign a guest book, over 770 people have toured since then.

There are several companies who do, see our post above from 8 months ago.
