Other singers make heavy work of songs and still display a fraction of Ella's skill.
But Ella performs a master class on how to use brillian technical skills effortlessly. Notice the constant key changes in the second half of the song. She does it with such ease that we barely notice, the listeners just becomes aware that they are listening to something special. THAT was Ella's unique ability; to conceal the intricate tools that she was using. There will never be another Ella Fitzgerald.

I searched for a version that would suit my taste - I heard a lot of versions, but since the second I saw Ella' name, I knew - this is it. What a lovely interpretation.

@Zundaerazylym no one person could define what REAL music is but you do have the right to have a favorite genre of music.I love lady gaga and i also love ella and mozart and eminem.

@wyvern60 I agree with you, absolutely. And I am now 61.
In an era of gadgetry, the Internet, and Gaga Bieber rap-pop-something stars, in the age of sex and chicks and clubs, not one modern star has turned out something so timeless, so genuine, and so *good* as the music of the Jazz era.

What a beautiful, angelic, sweet, tender voice Ms.Ella had.I have been listening to her since I was about 6 or so.And here I am 62,and she still intoxicates me.She is my therapy when the world get a little too much for me.We who love her are so lucky to have everything she did on CD so we can enjoy her forever.
