The AUG was designed as a family of rifles that could be quickly adapted to a wide variety of roles with the change of the barrel to a desired length and profile, among which are: a compact 350 mm (13.8 in) barrel, 407 mm (16.0 in) carbine barrel, 508 mm (20.0 in) standard rifle-length barrel and a 621 mm (24.4 in) light machine gun barrel.[3] The AUG is a modular, bullpup configuration rifle that employs a high level of synthetic and advanced alloy components.

  • @XxshughesxX

    jamacia is another

  • @ryansloan14 india i know is one

  • @XxshughesxX yes the sa80 l85a2 is a kind of a ok gun

but the l85a1 was a heap of shit it was unreliable and jammed alot, so the british after saw their gun was shit, then sent the gun to germany were the redesigned it as the l85a2, but the british take full credit for it. its still a right handed only weapon and still fails in a number of other areas, that why their are very few countries that use it.

  • @ryansloan14 sames i heard about that i collect them ive go a few i better tell you through messaging what i have the sa 80 is a good gun but the Aug is alot better i love weapons from guns to military vehicles

  • it has some advantages no youtube vid rly showcase.

one which is very rarely talked about is the very simple firesafety

which is baseicly a nobrainer ( press with your firefinger to fireposition )

and you can use it without practicly any practicing.

and the most important designfeature is the weaponsystems simplicity.

when i served my turn at the austrian army we had a corporal who could completly disassemble and reassemble the entire weapon all in 23 seconds lying in the barracks hallway

  • @XxshughesxX

no never held an aug but i have held ak47s , mg42 , bren , mp40 , sten , sks , and some others but all them guns were defunct

plus the shop i was holding them in has been closed down because the man who owned it was trying to fix the guns.

I can be a bit of a gun nerd, because guns fascinate me so much, i spend a good lot of my time on the internet just looking at guns.

but i consider the aug a1 far supierior than the sa80

  • @ryansloan14 have you ever held an AUG? ive held one at some Irish army tests the A1 & A2 the A3 is the latest it looks sweet!

  • kicks the sa80s asshole any day

the steyr AUG a1 is proudly used by the Irish army (Oglaigh na hEireann) as their standard service rifle.

and is also used by australia and austria, and numurous special forces around the world.

so the aug a1 has been in use since 1978 to this very day

    now thats the AUGs power

  • @05giacomo that rifle has been used since 1978

  • soon as famous as schwarzenegger^^, greetings from austria !! :D
