  • Let us not forget Charles Dickens character in David Copperfeild, Mr Macawber. It was he who said words to the effect: annual income £20, expenditure £19.95, outcome happy. annual income £20, expenditure £20.05,

    outcome misery.

    ....and that was almost 200 years ago! Still, in Mr MaCawber's words, "something may turn up."

    This disaster hasn't really got going yet. We are all of us about to learn the evils of acrued compound interest. Our leaders should have read more Dickens at school!!

  • its hit us hard in england...worse than in america...its over 104pence for a litre of petrol, while in the us its half that! the pounds also down against the dollar to, its used to be that the pound was worth 1.5 dollars (approx.) now its worth 1.2 dollars! and don't even TALK about the euro...
