---------------------------------------- -------------------
The good:

Some fairly bad puzzles
Forces in some unnecessary gameplay elements
Gum collection is pointless
The attempts at humour fall flat

Score: Good

About my rating system.

Awful - Admit to liking this game and your friends and loved ones will forsake you. And you'll be arrested.

Bad - Really just a game for series/IP/genre diehards.

Okay - Not bad enough to be bad, not good enough to be good.

Good - Good ideas, good design, good execution. It's good.

Excellent - A very special layer of hell is reserved for people who don't own this game.

  • The "Guess the time of explosion" puzzle is not broken, and yes, It CAN be solved by logic. I figured it out correctly on the second try. 2:12 possible answers is a good ratio I think.

Also the fans of Grickle (Graham Annable) - how has a channel on youtube - would find the game more satisfying in the story part.

  • @LordVidra A puizzle can't be solved through logic if that logic leads you to multiple different answers while only one is correct, which that puzzle does.

Although you may have gotten to the answer, perhaps you simply haven't discovered the additional 'correct' answers that, for no particular reason, the game does not accept. A friend and I have discovered three that fit the rules given, and I assure you we were both very thorough and methodical, taking notes and working things out properly.

  • humour falls flat? get out.

  • terrible review

  • Personally, I really loved the style but it'd be nice to see more animation. It felt too much like an animatic at times but that style of animation did pay off with the gnomes. I was also disappointed with the shortness of it since I finished it under 3 and a half hours. None the less, I'd love to see more of Puzzle Agent. As an adventure gamer it was a nice change.

  • Jesus, I'm having a hell of a time getting my comment through. Thanks for the kind words about the voice acting. I too hope the pilot gets picked up as that would mean a steady gig for me ( a rare beast indeed in the voiceover world).

  • I'm sure you've been asked this before, but do you have a Nintendo DS? If so, you should check out the two Professor Layton games that are in English! Fantastic games, sort of like this game, but the story in the Professor Layton games are pretty good as well. I have had hours and hours of brain bending fun with Professor Layton, and I think mostly anyone would like it, but you most likely especially would due to your love of adventure games. Anyways, excellent review as always, keep it up!
