these leeks were sown earlier and are now ready for planting out. they canbe sown in a seed bed and lifted or as here sown in a cellular tray. they should be over 4ins (10cm) high and about the size of a pencil. We are using two methods, making a hole about 6ins (15cm) deep and dropping the leek in or planting it and then surroounding it with a cardboard tube. We are using the insides of lavatory paper rolls. The aim is to have plenty of white growth on the leek by excluding light as it grows.
