  • Didn't Stalin want to create a society free of religion?

Not that I think that makes some greater statement about atheists. I don't, and I think it's wrong to try to malign atheists by mentioning Stalin, etc. But, I do think naturalism can easily lead to moral relativism, which is indeed dangerous.

  • Stalin's motivation was that he didn't want any competition.

Moral relativism is a fact - though of course we may differ on the precise definition of it.

But the best / strongest moral codes can always be based on the concept of: How would you feel if it was done to you. You know, like the golden rule.

I don't want my stuff stolen, and I don't want to live in a society that allows that, so I don't steal and I expect others to think the same way. For the most part, they do.

  • Good is that which promotes life, evil is that which destroys it. It's just as simple as that. No exceptions. Therefore, all major religions are warts on the ass of the world. They do not promote a healthy life. They promote death as the ultimate goal. They literally can't wait to die to go to paradise. Hard to believe that anyone over the age of 4 actually still believes in any of them. Do they still believe in Santa Clause? At least Santa brought me a Nintendo. Just my view.

  • Actually, I have to disagree with you a little bit. The muslims seem pretty happy to die and go to paradise - lots of muslim suicide bombers.

But Christians seem pretty scared to die. Think about when there is a big accident. People are always so relieved to be alive, or to have their loved ones alive. I understand that from an unbeliever's standpoint, but it doesn't make sense for believers, unless their belief was weak.

That's actually a good thing for us, if they don't really believe.

  • that is a very good point. Maybe on a subconscious level, they know it's all fiction even though they deny this?

  • Exactly. That's what I'm hoping.

Its funny how you claim atheism and amorality are synonymous when Plato debunked the link between religion and morality 399 years before Jesus was born. Stalin hated God and his people? He was one of the first leaders to recognize the State of Israel, and he killed people for disagreeing with his Marxist-Leninist ideology whether they be Christians or fellow atheists because many of his victims were atheists themselves as they were Marxists.

  • @cmpresents Actually several serial killers became born-again Christians, among them Son of Sam, Jeffrey Dhamer and Ted Bundy. Several others including members of the Manson family like Susan Atkins did as well. Most of those three denied blame for their actions, blaming porn or the theory of evolution. And according to Christian theology, they get to go to heaven for their faith alone while people like the Dalai Lama go to hell, anyone who finds that just is sick.

  • To mrhead. The ppl on death row are not Christians, they are atheist and antichrists. Was the Son of Sam a Christian? Was Manson a Christian? Name me one Christian that has ever been on death row. There's an infinite gap between a religious person and a Christian. Christians sin, but they are not on dr.

  • In the real world, which is the one one that I live in, atheist are a-moral, and I experience atheism from the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to sleep. According to atheism, humans are evolved savage animals, wow, maybe they are right. Just read the news paper, go into a bar, make a business transaction, go to your local mechanic. You will find atheism everywhere.

  • Stalin was an atheist, period. He killed because he hated God and his people. You did a terrible job explaining Eden, what makes you think you are right on this video. Atheist are a-moral, that's why they are a-theist.

  • @occamkant This is a great topic. Good has many different meanings including Genuine; real, Competent; skilled If you believe God exists and created the universe then he can be called good. I think your arguement is more concerning other definitions of good Worthy of respect; honorable for example. However, it is a common practice to respect military leaders if not for their decisions for their positions. God's position will always be as soverign over us.

  • i wonder how many religious people on deathrow compared to the number of atheist

  • Great stuff! - Subbed! ;o)

Yahweh is good... the bible TELLS me so.

Yahweh is bad... the bible SHOWS me so.

Yahweh's actions speaking louder than Yahweh's words.

    True.
