This is how we dead head roses in the sub tropics, where they grow and flower all year round. Rose enthusiasts will have a coronary at the way l do it, but its easier and less prickly than the way they do it thats for sure! Roses are best pruned in the winter months, when they are dormant. Dead Heading roses makes them look tidier and promotes new flowers.
I would be crying if my roses looked that poorly

Hey Greg, you'd love the garden at my house, It's literally 3 stories tall! My mum has put in years of hard work and toil to make it what it is today, even with a back problem over the past 5 or so years, there are plenty of roses out the front too! (I've had my share of prickly rose bushes over the years).

I'm not a gardener at all, but these videos are always entertaining and informative. It's something I know nothing about, so it's pretty cool to learn from someone as seasoned as you, GTG. ;)
