Shienryu Explosion - Stage 1

Shienryu Explosion is a 2d shoot-em-up released in 2003 as part of the Shienryu Double release on the PS2, the game is claimed to be an unfinished Arcade game, and the easy difficulty and huge amount of lives given show that.
The game has also had a European PS2 release, but the game is titled 'Steel Dragon EX'.

The game actually has a scoring system, and has a huge amount of different size medals/stars in the game.

For some reason, there is multipule types of shot that you can use in the game, ranging from a think vertical shot to a wide spread shot.

The scoring multiplier uses whatever shot you are using at the time for the amount of the multiplier.. if you destroy a ship with the vertical shot, then you get x256, and if you use the widest shot, then you get x1 instead.
The reverse is applied when collecting medals, collecting a medal when using your vertical shot gives you x1, and if you use the wide shot or no shot at all, then it gives you x256.
