Read my comment again, because I clearly state that if we are the cause of the problem than we can intervene but if we are not the cause, then we should stay the fuck out of it..

@MrZathroth1991 It is not acceptable to cause problems to animals and then say "Well it's nature let's let nature play it's game." We are here to help animals cos we are the ones that created problems for them , not "nature".

Where has this absurd and transparent sense of responsibility come from. The feeling that we are responsible for everything in nature. Who are we to say which species survives and which dies of? Let them go in peace if that is their destiny. I could understand actions taken because we humans caused something directly to a certain animal, but anything beyond that is hubris. Let nature play its game and stay the fuck out of it.

@dawg1157 Look, if I tell you all the laws, you'd just say that they weren't enforced. And if I said the laws were enforced, you'd request examples. You may have the time, I don't. You have internet, look it up. The Chinese White Dolphin is in the highest protected category in China, in the same grade as Panda. For instance, a Chinese White Dolphin was surprisingly spotted in a river in Canton in Jan 2008, the police cleared the area while not disturbing the dolphin.
-
@cpdkw You seem to be an expert when it comes to Chinese politics. Why don't you tell us then what the Chinese have done protect the White Dolphin? Or any other endangered aquatic animal for that matter? I'm interested to hear what facts YOU bring to table. Just thought I'd mention that the only measure taken so far has been to ban high speed boats in certain dolphin habitats...which according to reports, have not been enforced in the slightest. Same goes for the reduction in fish trawling.

I hope that you do realize I was only talking about the Chinese White Dolphins, not all species of dolphins in general. The main reason that the Chinese White dolphin is almost extinct was pollution caused by industrialization. Commercial fishing was indeed part of the equation but played a minimal role. My guess is that you are trying to apply "the Cove" to every species of dolphins regardless of facts beyond your knowledge.
-
@cpdkw you should try watching "The Cove" before you start talking about things YOU don't understand. There's proof that dolphin, whale and shark numbers are depleting due to Japanese and Chinese commercial fishing. Not being prejudice or ignorant....just stating the facts and providing some reality for you. Not saying that Americans are any better, we have blood on our hands too, but I don't spew lies and hate speech to try and cover it up.

I love it when people claim that the Chinese Government hasn't been trying to protect the Chinese White Dolphins because it just shows how ignorant these people are. But of course, to those who are prejudice and ignorant, any unsupported and false claims that throws dirt at the Chinese government are always welcomed, and no proof is needed to these claims. What a shame.
I LOVE LONESOME GEORGE!!!! i'm doing a project about him in school :)

"Only about 1000 exist" and yet the Chinese government has not protected this specie. What a shame.
