Thread Milling in Mastercam http://www.eapprentice.net/
Smaller diameter threaded holes, up to about ½ an inch or 12mm are usually tapped. Larger diameter holes require a lot more torque to tap in one pass and the taps themselves become expensive, so thread milling is a good option.

In this case an internal thread measuring 1 Diameter by 8 threads per inch will be programmed in Mastercam

  • I believe the NTMA has a good program in L.A., there are also a couple of good community colleges that I have heard of, but don't remember the names. Google mastercam college and L.A. and you should get some good leads
