Im writing because I find your remarks singularly interesting. What was proposed was that she find self fulfillment. Finally, she found herself. -- you find her actions vindictive, let me suggest: the first time the dog bites you its his fault, if you are bitten a second time, the fault is yours. Should she have kept offering her hand to appease all the dogs in the world? One only gets so many fingers, and she was such a talented embroidrist, she needed all her fingers.

  • They don't make movies like this anymore, that's for sure.

  • @CherieAmanpour But put yourself in his place. Here comes a man readily to take your daughter away, he has no prospects, no job and a questionable past. And he does absolutely nothing to remedy that situation. I wouldn't have let my daughter marry such a man too.

  • my favorite part o this movie is when she goes to retrieve pen and paper to give to her father for him to disinherit her...all I could say was BRAVA! STICK IT POPS!

  • Since the Doctor found Catherine so dull and utterly displeasing if shouldve been glad that someone was interested in her regardless what their reasons. Catherines happiness shouldve been all that mattered.

  • @music130man No, you're wrong. I saw a movie a few months ago. Forgot the title. It was just like this.

I grew up in a Brownstone,I know the difference, that there is a townhouse, similar to the ones on the upper east side. So we call them Townhouses. I'm a New Yorker too hon.

  • @NightinMadrid We call them brownstones..not townhouses

  • oh and by the way i'm not an Elvis fan that song just popped into my head when i heard the music at the beginning.

  • The beginning of the music sounds like an Elvis song (for i can't help falling in love with you like a river flows gentlely to the sea somethings are meant to be take hand my take my whole life too for i cant help falling in love with you) i think those are the words anyway sounds simuliar to Elvis

  • love these beautiful old movies shows how much is lost on modern day films!

  • It's easy to see why Olivia won an Oscar for this performance. It's remarkably different from anything that she had done previously. Brilliant!
