Contest Information is below this donation information...

I plan on donating to two charities -- to one before I leave to go back to Japan on the 27th, and to another when I return to Japan.

The first charity is a fund being set up by the Japanese Students Association at UCSD. I graduated from UCSD, so I heard about this fundraising effort through a fellow alumni. More information can be seen here: http://ucsdjsa.org/

They are trying to raise $10,000 to send directly to the affected prefecture of Miyagi through ties they have in Japan.

The 2nd charity is a fund being established by AJET -- the Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching.

The money raised by AJET will help those English teachers who have lost everything in the quake and tsunami and their schools.

I will make a donation in Japanese yen through my bank account when I return.

I will accept any donation up until Friday, March 25th.

If you need to use a credit card or want a receipt, feel free to donate thru a PayPal account I set up on my website - http://japanjuku.com/

I also have many more links to worthwhile charities in the description box below the original fundraising video :

  • It's cool my company is matching any donations we make to Japan dollar for dollar up to $1000.

  • @goshuki that's excellent!

  • Wow, Easter candy corn? lol I've actually never heard of it. Anyway, thanks so much! And congrats to the other winners too. :)

  • @StarDr0ps opened the bag and it tastes pretty much like normal candy corn you'd have at Halloween - which is delish IMO

  • just got a $500 direct donation from a very generous and kind Canadian viewer - excellent!

  • Unfortunately there has been a confirmed U.S. death due to the earthquake in Japan, and it is a Jet. Sad news this evening.

  • @Steelmoon17 yeah - heard that today too - very sad; and did you see 60 minutes on Sunday - harrowing story by an ALT at an elementary school who had to watch his kids wash away in the tsunami
