It depends... If you build it to plans it will meet Federal Regs for an ultralight. That means no license and no registration. (and no taxes)

If you are not careful it will not make weight (254 lbs) and it will have to be registered in the experimental category, which requires at least a sport pilot license. Training is not optional however in either case. The more the better, as always.

Jim never flew hangliders. A few gliders though, when the engine stopped.

The designer estimates 3 to 5,000. The prices on materials keep going up however.

I bet it really screams with horse racing jockey sized person at the controls.

Ain't nothing wrong with having a few toys to play with in life. This has to be great fun, build your own plane and fly it. Not for me though don't think I am that brave...Cheers..
