I purchased my first car recently. It is a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6. Everything is standard except for back-up sensors and GPS Navigation. Instead, I use a TomTom One and I installed a Vr3 Wireless Back-up Camera this past weekend. I posted that video on YouTube as well.

I get roughly 22 miles per gallon. That's a far cry from my last car, Chevrolet Prizm, which got 33 miles to the gallon. The acceleration is smooth and it has a sporty feel. The seats are a bit firm and will take a little getting use to.

**UPDATE 12/7/2009** On some days, I feel a jolt between gear shifts at low speeds. I thought it was just my car but I noticed it in my girlfriends 2009 Acura TSX. I paid $24,000 after Cash for Clunkers trade-in, Honda's $1500 rebate, taxes, and fees.**

  • i have a prizm lol maybe my next car will be an accord lol, nice car

  • @Baconater717 Thanks for the compliment Baconater717. I just returned from Orlando where I rented a Toyota Corolla (same as Prizm). It brought back many uncomfortable memories...

  • this car or the the 2009 tsx

  • @LethalTech01 That's a tough call but I'll have to say the 2009 Accord V6 with a self installed parking camera. My finance has the 2009 Acura TSX with technology package (parking camera and GPS). Her 4 cylinder TSX cost over $30,000. I read that the 2010 Acura TSX has 6 cylinders. If you can afford that, go for the 6 cylinder Acura TSX.

  • @offroadfury6 I noticed cars have gone up over the years more than anything else. I think it's the fact that their advertising costs are through the roof. I remember when a new Mustang GT 5.0 was around $12,000 in 1988. Now they go for like $40,000. Used cars like Maxima and Accord went up about 5k from five years ago. The prices are so close to new, that it's better to buy new in a lot of cases. You don't see that 50% depreciation you did years ago.

  • I just got an 08 ex-l coupe. Do you find the automatic shifts are awkward and it's tough to maintain speed over 60? I think it's that eco thing. I feel like I can't keep it at a constant speed, it wants to drift around, but generally, it gradually goes slower. Anyone else have this?

  • I bought an 08 v6 coupe and I find it's kind of slow. It's the auto and I went from a stick v6 Altima. Maybe it's just that the Altima was so fast. Anyone else find it slow?

  • @offroadfury6 btw, its still $10,000 lower than the car being sold here in Malaysia.. yeah, i agreed about Hyundai+Kia car.. they update the packages thought time. Government policy on imported car taxes in malaysia WAY TOO HIGH..

  • @Urzu3 since 2009....this same Accord costs about $36,000 with the same options TODAY...car's have greatly rose with our recession...NOTHING is cheap...KIA probably has the best car packages available. ( Price, features, warrently, etc... )

  • Good engineering is hard to market but good products sell themselves. If you look on any North American roads almost, its quite impossible to not see an Accord lurking somewhere no matter what class of neighborhood your at. That says something.

  • why is the accord in uk different and much much nicer

  • You bought yourself a beautiful vehicle for it being your first, very smart choice hehe
