i remember reading that they swim in giant schools and thats when they are more safer to be around and should be avoided if seeing one on its own

Barracudas are fucking creepy... I was snorkeling in the Bahamas with my friend and we saw a four to five foot one about ten feet away from us... The worst part is when you swim away and they follow you.

Shit, I saw the exact same kind of Barracuda while snorkeling in Curaçao. I looked at it for about ten seconds, saying "oh shit" to myself in my head before speed-propelling myself to shore. It was the freakiest thing.
