wheels too big!!!
-
@KraftwerkPerformance Well, yeah, that's a different matter, I'm assuming one does not react. You can press the brakes to stop the wheels as well.
-
@iLoveEatingPie Or simply press the clutch ;-)

@KraftwerkPerformance I realized that you have experience with dynos, but I don't believe the reason is the engine not being in forward motion. The engine gives all of the pistons' up-down motion to the crankshaft's circular motion, which is transfered to the flywheel, and therefore to transmission and wheels. That means most of the engine's motion makes the wheels spin. So if you wanted to stop the car instantly, you'd have to stop the wheels, the transmission and the engine together.

a) Physics. The engine, transmission and body are not in a forward motion.
b) Experience. We dyno cars evey day
-
@KraftwerkPerformance The whole engine is working too, as well as the transmission. What makes you think it would instantly stop?
objects in motion tend to stay in motion.objects at rest tend to stay at rest.the weight of the car is art rest.

@reverend099 Exactly! There is 1500 kg in rest (car) vs less than 100 kg in motion (wheels).
