I did Oklahoma 2 and a half years ago, and I played Judd. I still catch myself singing this song from time to time.

@bandfreak14 I also got the chance to play the part of Jud in Oklahoma. Our final show is tomorrow. And you're right, this is one of the most powerful songs in the play, and Jud is a great character to play.

is this an octave lower than it should be? that illegal.

Nope, as written. It may be the darker timbre or resonance that could make it sound lower to some people. Or mens solos are usually written in treble clefs (hence the octave lower) unless youre looking at a Grand Staff, for instance while singing with a chorus. Its just an unwritten editors rule. Sing in the tessitura you are comfortable in. Octaves arent illegal.
