http://www.cabincreekwood.com - This hike is just a few miles from our vacation rental cabins in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It was early spring, and the water from the snow melt made this a spectacular time to visit.

White Rock Falls is a very pretty waterfall on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is especially awesome in the summer, as a pool under the waterfall is perfect for cooling off. Although many waterfalls are dangerous to play in, this pool is well protected, easy to enjoy wading in without any concern of being swept away.

Sometimes during the latter part of the summer, the water coming over the falls nearly dries up.

The hike is not strenuous, although any hiking in the mountains involves changes in elevation. The distance from the parking area to the waterfall is about 3/4 mile.
