I find that the manual steering on the boat can get a bit tirsome especially when there is waves or accelerating and turning at the same time, and trimming the leg out does help a lot with it, the same is in the marina when berthing or leaving that if you trim the leg out the boat responds faster and sharper than leaving it all the the way in

They just don't say die! The 3.0l Mercruiser is bullet proof. That looked faster than 43mph. Nice place to cruise too by the looks of it!

Once i got full RPM with the foot straight down, I trimmed it out just a bit to the point that it eased the steering and i picked up about 200 more RPM's. It wasn't much.

In this video i was running about 4400 rpm and then dropped it down to about 3800 - 4000 rpm. Can't remember for sure.

i find that when cruising at around 3000rpm that with the leg in you go around 26 mph, but when you trim out to the first black line on the instrument for trim you go up to about 30mph but the engine also gains about 200 or so rpm.

That is where I trim it to, just above the first black line. I also find with the increased speed and rpm's that the steering free's up a bit. With no trim at speed the boat wants to pull one way or the other but once trimmed out the steering is straight. It is a fun boat and a lot of bang for the buck.
