YO-3A Silent Aircraft

FBI used this aircraft in the Patty Hearst case, Wounded Knee and many kidnapping and extortion cases. This aircraft is now under going restoration at area 51. This was originally a Lockheed Greenhouse project and was the beginning of stealth aviation. 9 of these YO-3As operated in Vietnam 1970-71. The YO-3A had Night vision aerial periscope, Infrared Illuminator and laser target designator. Radar absorbing paint made the plane invisible when the transponder was turned off. In 14 months of operation, no YO-3A ever took a round or was shot down.
