3,500+ Canadians died taking the Ridge and 7,000 more were wounded. Previous French attacks came at a cost of 200,000 dead with little or no ground gained. The Canadians accomplished what was said to be "impossible" as the ridge was thought to be impregnable.

To the germans this battle also had significance. Two of the Best Military's in the world dooking it out, Hitler never destroyed the Vimy Ridge Memorial and destroyed the American,Austrailian,French sites.

Germans, not imposing that EVERY German is bad, just saying that they were the enemies if humanity in both World Wars. It is heck cool that us Canadians a British colony back then, fought better than the French and British troops. We also provided Britain with their weapons and our brave and strong men. They had it tougher than we'd imagine, but it was cool when they would celebrate Christmas together. Wars are something no one completely understands. In the end only one side wins! GO CANADA!

I'm from canada, for one of my classes we went on a trip to europe and one of the places we went was the vimy ridge memorial! it was nice to see that the people working there just loved canadians and they gave our whole class these little fake metals!
