Every night at 7pm, a third of the American population indulges in a national obsession. It's called the Amos 'n' Andy Show. A pair of white actors portray the adventures of two black men from the south,
struggling to make a new life in a northern city. Despite mass protests by the African American community,
Amos 'n' Andy quickly becomes the most successful radio show of all time. At its peak of popularity, the
program was always broadcast live. No professional recordings were made, which means that almost all of
those performances have been lost forever. Only a handful of recordings exist this is one of them!!!

  • Wow.... either your sarcasm is lost in translation or you are a bona fide racist.....??!!!! Wow... kudos to your for surviving for so long while the world evolves around you (evolution is that thing they were supposed to teach you in science class). I actually appreciate your entry because at least you have the courage to be overt about it. Now.......THAT's sarcasm.

  • indeed, during the 20's and 30's it was more of a drama than a comedy.

  • Without Amos and Andy, there would be no Honeymooners. If there were no Honeymooners, there would be no Flintstones, Simpsons or Family Guy. These guys were EXREMELY important in the development of American humor.

  • Most of the tv show plots were Amos and Andy trying to con each other with the cab driver being the moral conscience of the group! I found the plots both humorous and entertaining, never viewed it as racist, more along the lines of lessons of how you reap what you sow!
