Hehee ya I seem to recall he telling Whitman how he was attacked by a bear & the guy had scars, a big bear skin & these claws attached to his hands or something.

That is the only episode I remember from this series. I was seven years old, and the mountain man scared the hell out of me!

I remember this series well, actually only the intro credits & one episode where Whitman has to battle some wacky mountain man with bear claws on his hands or some such...

some people say this was better written than "gun smoke", but stuart whitman made to many demands at perfection that cost too much money for production! Too bad it only lasted one season.
