When Johnny Comes Marching Home

An American Civil War song, many people associate this tune with the Confederate Army although it was actually written by Union soldier Patrick Gilmore who went on to organize the National Peace Jubilee in 1869 and the International Peace Jubilee in 1872.

I wrote the last verse myself, and hereby release it into the public domain with the rest of the song - you can sing it, play it, record it, sell it, put in your movie or video - I don't really care as long as the message of peace is spread. The lyrics to the last verse:

Our boys are over in Iraq
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The Taliban is on the run
Hurrah! Hurrah!

The day will come when we all shall see
that peace is a better way to be
and we'll all be free when

And yes, I know I can't sing ... and I know I can't play ... it's just a hobby and I enjoy it none-the-less. I hope you do too.
