nice review

I used several 1/4 20 carriage bolts to secure mine. There would be a whole lot of time and noise to dislodge it. It was an additional $1.

how much is cost?

Is that a cylinder lock? Search you tube "Kryptonite cylinder locks" or "cylinder lock pick" you can pick these things with a bic pen

at a glance, this is garbage compared to the Titan Gun Vault titan gun vault . com especially when you add on the ammo extension to the Titan

fuck the batteries chuck the thing at the thief!

Thanks for the review. I'm about to order one on Amazon. About the pop open door, I saw that too and read about it on a few forums. From what I've read several places, that was a defect on a batch of mini vaults manufactured Apr 2008 due to a bad vendor part which caused it to fail to lock at all. The tapping just bounced open the unlocked door in that video.
Hi 1Step. Good review. Nice vids with TNP too. But regarding the GunVault, I'm considering mounting it upside-down under my bedside table. Do you know if it can be mounted upside down? With the door being spring-loaded, I imagine it should still work. Also, is the ENTIRE internal surface foam-lined so I can do this? Thanks in advance, AM.

@aliasmunky All signs point to this working. I just checked the strength of the spring on the door. It looks like it will pop up OK. As for the foam padding...it goes all the way around. Let me know your results!

@abenewson Thanks for the heads up. I've been told about that before. Since I actually own one I can speak to it's performance. I have hit the safe hard all over and no unlocking... I would be the first to post about a potential flaw. Sounds like the other guy you saw had a bad one. He should send it in to the company for repair/replacement. Seems like there are more people with positive reviews on this safe than one or two others who've had problems.

mechanical simplex lock are much more reliable but more expensive and harder to find but two brands are V-line and Fort Knox (Rolls Royce of handgun safes) gun vault has 16 gauge steel. Weak compared to 10 gauge (.1406 inches) of lock safe and Fort knox. but ok. gunvault has one extremely dangerous flaw as the safe gets older or even sometimes out of the box it can be opened by a well placed knuckle tap on the latch. that will get someone killed and is the reason why i say avoid this safe.

@fusionchef1 Thanks for the info. I'm pretty confident in "Gun Vault" products. I will be sure to let my subscribers know if anything changes. I would recommend that anyone who experiences a faulty safe/lock return it to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Again there is a trade off between quick access and complete lockup. YMMV.
