Speaker Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, join Planet Forward to share their ideas on Green Conservatism—a new environmental approach that focuses on market-oriented solutions, innovation, incentives, entrepreneurship, science and technology. They believe that Green Conservatism will create better environmental solutions at a faster rate than regulation, bureaucracy, litigation, and big government.

Rather than argue over the red vs. blue partisan debate, Newt and Callista believe that all Americans can agree on innovative solutions that will allow a healthy environment to co-exist with a growing economy.

With market incentives, tax credits, and prizes to encourage scientific and technological breakthroughs, America will have the potential to preserve its environment and natural resources, develop clean and abundant energy, and strengthen the economy and our national security.

Join Newt and Callista as they explain how we can make our nation the global leader in conservation for future generations.

  • Gingrich's hero, Reagan, had the solar panels Jimmy Carter installed removed. Conservatives will always be the ones who block environmental progress.

  • a good example of how incentives work is that people recycle cans because they know they can make money doing it. We went to California for a/b 10 weeks & while we were there we recycled plastic & cans b/c there are recycling places everywhere & you can make money by recycling.

  • because he is a liar? sure.

  • I agree with the first point by Izzymandias.

  • Green conservatism sounds too much like compassionate conservatism, to me - where conservatism quickly falls by the wayside, in favor of its pretext.

While I like the free-market sales pitch, there seems to be too much centrist pandering here.
