Info:
My first ever cover and I thought it came out quite well. Audio was done direct through the Pod X3 Live USB connection with the video being done by a camera and then being overdubbed by the audio. Some parts of it are out of time with the song, but that was a recording failure and I did not have my guitar and my speakers at the right volume levels. With this I played during different times of the day, so the light changes through the video. Also I couldn't be stuffed figuring out the right harmonics after the intro so I just improvised them. Enjoy!
Techniques/Tips:
- The hardest part of the song is the key change in the last chorus, it feels like a bit of a tongue twister with your fingers and its very high up.
- The lead tone sounds a bit better with a splash of reverb/delay and using the neck pickup in the chorus, but the rhythm is better without effects and using the bridge pickup
Gear:
Guitar: Ibanez RGT42DXFM
- Neck pickup: Stock Ibanez INF1
- Bridge pickup: Seymour Duncan Dimebag Darrell
Strings: Ernie Ball Super Slinky
Tuning: Drop D (DADGBE)
Effects: POD X3
- Lead Tone patch: ENGL Powerball tone (with reverb)
- Rhythm tone patch: Bogner Uberschall tone
Video: Pentax Optio 60
Audio Editing: Audacity
Video Editing: Sony Vegas Pro 8
Tabs:
Most of the tabs for this song are pretty awful. Best way is to get Version 1 or 2 guitar pro files from ultimate-guitar.com and then make changes to the solo and intro.
