During the Edinburgh Fringe 2011 Whisky Comedian Alan Anderson performed his debut solo show Whisky Fir Dummies at The Tron. During the show he asked his audience to describe the six single malt malt whiskies they were tasting.
"The tasting is more fun, when he asks the six tasters to describe the sensations in inventive ways" The Scotsman
"a very funny and genuinely informative show." Three Weeks
One of these whiskies was Laphroaig 10 year old. Words would not do this whisky justice. Here is what the audience thought.

If you want proper tasting notes here is what the experts say:
"Old-fashioned sticking plaster, peat smoke and seaweed leap off the nose, followed by something a little sweeter and fruitier. Massive on the palate, with fish oil, salt and plankton, though the finish is surprisingly tight and increasingly drying. The biggest beast in the jungle, even if its roar has become more muted in recent years. 'Love it or hate it,' as one Laphroaig advert rather boldy put it, but you just can't ignore it. 40.0% ABV, 70cl, £25, widely available. "
