@t1dda if that is not a fair go what is it then? Mining is the biggest thing we have in Australia and contributes hugely to welfare paid to aborigines. In addition we have active employees going around recruiting indigenous locals yet no one even consider getting a freaking job? I strongly believe they are incapable of working in a modern society and history is history and I don't judge through first impression but through experience.

@t1dda the killings, stolen generations and inhumane acts that have befallen Australian aborigines are unfortunate but in the end that's not really no excuse for no contributing. I work as a consulting engineer for BHP billiton and we have extensive programs for indigenous recruitment that obliged us to accept ANY indigenous person WHO WANTS TO WORK. We would train them, accommodate and pay large salaries. After all that, how many has applied? NONE

@gloomysuicidal how can aboriginies contribute to society when they are still fighting just to be accepted in this society, like you everyone judge them without even getting to know them or give them a fair go in australia. you came here to australia 30 years ago and yet you still know nothing about australian and aboriginal history.
-
@gloomysuicidal well look harder. im a case worker at centrelink and i see just as many caucasians, asians, and other cultures looking to work for the dole. why do aboriginies have to contribute to society? they were almost killed out when the settlers first came here they been raped slaved and got their children taken off them. i dont think any caucasians or asians or any other race can even imagine what that was like. they are hunters and gatherers not looking to get rich but try and survive.

@t1dda I have lived in Australia for 30 years and I have yet to encounter one aborigine that has a proper job. You need to understand that a lot of Caucasians, Asians, Arabs and Africans as well as others are quite bad as well but at least a majority of them are able to innovate and make contributions to society and human civilization. Now I ask you what contributions has aborigines made? None. There is a strong reason why aborigines as a whole is very marginalized in modern society of today.
-
ok just because you see a minority of aboriginals that way, it doesnt mean we are all like that. i dont smoke i dont drink and i dont do drugs. i went all the way though high school and got my HSC. i have a job, got a vx lumina clubsport and i got my own house. not every aboriginal is the same.....
-
@t1dda because aborigines are a blight to society similar to drugs, cigarettes and alcohol.

necklacing someone just because they stole a bun because they havent eaten for a week
"Many aborigines still live in poverty"
They're hunter-gatherers. Agriculture was a change that had profound evolutionary pressures on man, forcing them into regular work schedules, development of property rights, and tolerance for an "unnatural" diet. They're not agriculturalists, they're going to live as hunter-gatherers if you let them.
Like native americans and other pre-agricultural groups, they are probably susceptible to alcoholism and diabetes if they eat a high carb agricultural diet.

@AlienFirefox FACT:Australia's dead-calm peace is completely based on the full submission of the Aborigines.
