Well, nothing special here, but I haven't posted in a while, and today my roommate was making garlic baby soup, so I laid down this chunky, riff-laden cover of this creepy little gem from Robyn Hitchcock's "Jewels For Sophia" album. Then my poodle gave birth to a chihuahua! Weird! Was dog a doughnut? Only Cat Stevens knows for sure!

Let this be a cautionary lesson to those who practice without a metronome. Don't wind up like me.

As always, pardon my vocals.

  • This is awesome. "Mexican God" was high on my list of Robyn songs I might try to cover, but this version is so cool I'm not gonna bother. :)

  • Oh, that I don't like to hear... have at it man! Bring something personal to it. It's a great song, it's so simple that it's a good canvas.

  • Very cool. Great song choice. He's got many great songs as you know.

Great moving guitar funky pogo stick strong hold on the bass strings.

"Oh magnificent, roasting your people...." haha

I dig the lively voice too.

  • Hah, listening to your stuff over on your channel, I was going to ask if you had ever listen to Robyn Hitchcock. Yeah, I've always liked this song a lot... it's sort of underappreciated among the many great songs he's written.

BY the way, if you haven't, you should check out user "slippereal"... he's got a lot of great psychedelic stuff.

  • All I can say is wow! I love the guitar playing on this - it works and betters the song and fits your style. Congrats on a super performance!

  • Nice, I'm totally diggin' your style man. I've been on the look out for some rockin' blues and I think I've just found my daily fix. ^_^ I'm an aspiring guitarist and this is just the kind of inspiration I need. Keep up the rockin' work.

  • Jack Black is proud.

  • Its good stuff. I like when Robyn goes to Peter Bucks apartment and they end up working on a song together

  • Dunno! Didn't get the extras, just the video of the Sundance doc footage.

  • How are the extras?

I understand theres a rooftop performance of Ole Tarantula
