It's wonderful to hear a singer who has such a specific point of view in his interpretation. The aria really comes alive in this performance.

why they don't play this at the MET is beyond me. I adore all of RK's music--so colorful, exotic--takes one to another place--as good music should.

I love both the music and the choreography. Ending with the image of the goddess Durga Devi was a brilliant touch. I am hard pressed to choose a favorite composer, but Rimsky-Korsakov would probably be that choice. His use of folk elements combined with mysticism produced works that are nothing short of enchanting.

Griogorian had a great voice l have his forza del destino. l don't know why he is not singing more.
