African Soft Furred Rat Update

Update on the ASF breeding.

I've got 3 breeder tubs going now with a female grow up and male grow up tub. The two younger breeder groups still seem to not quite understand how to take care of their young, but in a couple more weeks they should have it down.

I use a combination of kiln dried pine pellets and aspen shavings.

You'll need to simply search for them. Many reptile breeders also breed ASFs. So I'd first start with them.

Use 1/2" wire mesh. Use something straight to help put the corner bends in the wiring. I measured 4 squares for each sides and something like 20 squares long to reach the bottom of the tub. Use some wire to tie it all together. And you're done!

Are they good to feed adult ball pythons? And also, how long does it take a ASFR to become an adult?

@pedelpopper the males have balls under their tail. you sex them when tey are 2 weeks old (earlier, when you are used to them)

Your numbers will be far better if you provided a hide out or two. And a bit more shavings and/or paper shreds rather than pellets..
