Lyrics -
Verse 1:
Hamlet never knew what was best,
he always waited and never got to test,
hisideas plan always made on the move,
resulting in actions unsmooth,
yet at heart Hamlet never meant no harm,
the circumstances dicated events...
they caused alarm in young Hamlet and he left six dead,
never woulda happened if he hadn't pretended to lose his head,
thinking, he couldn't think right: he had to many
thoughts, ideas, plans, worries, thoughts
lost control of his mind,
and had to leave his plans for killing only Claudius behind,
so many dead,
but he never meant for that,
Laertes poisoned sword was like a modern day Gat,
Hamlet, he had to die like the rest of us,
may he rest in peace he did as much as the best of us.
Pre-Chorus 1:
This system is,
outta wack,
there's a murderer,
your daddy's back
Chorus:
"To be, or not to be--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep--
No more"...
Verse 2:
Ophelia couldn't get no respect,
she didn't get any cus back then that's not what you'd expect,
She had to lie to Hamlet cus Polonious said that,
Hamlet's only use for her was getting her in bed,
she didn't think that there would be a bad end,
but Hamlet had to stab the curtains and end life,
Strife, strife try all she might she couldn't prevent her suicide with no religion to save her life.
Left and right,
outta sight,
lurking in the corners they watch him,
and wait for him to give some evidence,
justification for the murders that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern will commit hence,
And despite the evidence he keeps thinking and thinking between right and right, no joke,
things don't seem the same when you pretend that you're insane,
you might end up truly crazy because you're causing others pain.
Pre-chorus 2:
And even though,
he had contempt,
he's not good or bad,
his life was spent.
Chorus
Verse 3: So in the end the medieval code was served,
an eye for an eye only in violence what just occurred,
it wasn't fair but it was right the only choice was to have a fight...
And though Gertrude decided not to defend her son,
and though Claudius decided to have some fun,
and though Ophelia was buried in a semi holy grave we know that after death we're all, physically the same,
Most people won't die for something anymore,
If everything made sense life would be a bore, and a chore,
some things will never make sense,
analysis is limited we're all just sitting on the fence,
But from Hamlet we can learn about readiness,
Getting off the fence is the first step to living this life,
but think about things first,
just not like Hamlet did, cus thinking too much is cursed,
Pre-Chorus 3:
And you might say that Hamlet wouldn't like my song,
But I not be the one to tell you wrong,
VDB, would say I'm right:
Cus' Hamlet doesn't know what to do, what to say, or who to fight.
Chorus
Outro:
There's a new king, not just another,
the state of Denmark isn't rotten or asunder,
There's a new day, coming hence...
"The rest is silence"...
