1 cup Thrive cornmeal
1/2 cup Thrive flour
1/4 cup Thrive 3 cheese blend cheese {if desired}
3 Tablespoons plus 1 Tablespoon shortening
1 teaspoon Thrive salt
1 cup buttermilk {if you don't have buttermilk use 1 cup thrive powdered or instant milk and add 1 T fresh lemon juice added, let sit for 5 min}
1/2 cup Thrive Powdered or Instant milk
1 Thrive Egg {1 T. Thrive Egg Powder + 2 T. water}
1 tablespoon Thrive baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Thrive baking soda
Preheat oven to 400 degree, place 8x8 inch or pie dish in oven with 1 tablespoon shorteing to melt
In a medium bowl, mix flour, Thrive 3 cheese blend, cornmeal and salt
In another small bowl, mix buttermilk, milk and egg. Stir in baking powder and baking soda
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until combined.
Melt 3 T. shortenning in the microwave and stir into batter.
Remove pan from oven, shortening should be melted
Pour batter into pan
Return to oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown
i wonder if dh will like cheesy cornbread hmm i know i will i may just make some rolls as a side for him lol
