IBM Vs. Apple

In the 1980s, Apple and IBM were battling it out in the personal computer market. the IBM PC was known as a business computer while Apple's new Macintosh wasn't sure what market it was for. these two ads show how easy their computer is. in the IBM ad, IBM explains that the IBM PC-AT was so easy to use that someone as silly as Charlie Chaplin could easily take in thousands of documents in seconds. Apple's Macintosh ad states that the IBM PC ad requires alot of time to understand the computer (resulting in less production) compared to the Mac which is easy as 1-2-3. While the Macintosh never won the business computer battle, they dominated the Home & Media battle that Windows or IBM could never overtake

Wow, the same schtick as the "I'm a Mac." "And I'm a PC." ads. Look how far the advertising has come. The surface message being that PCs are hard and Macs are easy, but with the unfortunate and unintentional implication that Macs are for stupid people and PCs are for smart people.

My grandpa still owns one of the original IBM pc computer and it quite literally came with three binders or info.
